Fear of Kathy Acker
With surrounding themes of desire, consumerism, paranoia, and the 1980s, Fear of Kathy Acker confronts the contemporary Los Angeles literary scene. Contrition Pageant
Exploring the structure of confession (both in a dogmatic sense and an interpersonal one) Contrition Pageant employs the vehicle of a “pageant,” where “characters” exist as artifact and untrustworthy storytellers carry false narratives based in allegory. Siena Foster-Soltis takes an irony poisoned bataille-centered philosophy and turns it into showmanship and pseudo-religion while simultaneously trauma dumping, forming fallacious senses of intimacy and questioning radical forgiveness.
